As a student in the Conservatory of Music, Martha McDonnell ’14 found a way to balance her two distinct musical interests: classical violin performance and fiddling. Her unique skill set landed her a spot in Sting’s musical The Last Ship before she had even graduated, and she’s since performed on Broadway in Steve Martin’s Bright Star.

Student musicians and performers gathered to explore themes ranging from inclusion and diversity to gun awareness in a micro-opera series.

Breathe: a multi-disciplinary water opera, is an ethereal production that utilizes the Lawrence University Buchanan Kiewit Wellness Center as the performance space. 

Presto went to Houston! Lawrence visited high schools, worked with community organizations, and performed a one-night-only concert.

Lawrence alumni reconnect with the Appleton community during the annual Mile of Music festival, participating in music education workshops and performances.
